Reign of the Unwanted - Night 7

Chronicles of Roika:

Reign of the Unwanted

Night 7

Again, we burned the corpses of those who died this morning. As usual, we repainted the houses with dragon’s blood and had another gathering. Still, we are to battle them. But this time, it’s different. Acrobats, jesters, and rangers are the only ones to battle the vampires. They are to fly while shooting at them. On the other hand, we’re to stay at designated houses and just wait. When the archers do enough damage to them, it was only then when we would come out of our hiding and help them finish off the vampires. A signal will be made telling us to attack – firecrackers.

-----------------------------------------------------

It was dark already but the vampires weren’t showing up yet. The archers were already patrolling the area as they ride on the board/brooms. The vampires weren’t around. This went on for hours. Then, we suddenly heard what seemed to be a wing that flapped just above us. We didn’t close the windows because we were to wait for the signal. I saw one of the winged beings. It was nothing like the vampires we saw. It was more human than vampire. It held two swords... just like a blade. It went to where the archers were. There was more than one of those winged vampires. They were many. They held weapons just like ours. Some carried bows, some carried swords, some carried axes... they all held a weapon or two. The vampires without wings then suddenly showed up. The archers were probably in a state of shock. They were being slaughtered by the winged vampires.

We couldn’t just watch them being killed. So, we went out and tried to help them. Our necklaces helped us a bit against the hideous vampires on land. But still, we had winged ones attacking us from above. Some would even cast spells at us. We were being killed mercilessly. It was too late to return to the house. It was probably even useless to be in one that time. We had no choice but to keep on fighting. After gruesome hours which felt like an eternity, the vampires fled.

We’re still going to have another gathering later. I just wanted to write down what happened earlier now. I’m beginning to lose hope. I can’t believe I survived. My family made it as well. But if a miracle doesn’t happen tonight, I fear it’s the end.
