Chronicles of Roika:
Reign of the Unwanted
Anthony's Journal
Night 5
I still feel sleepy. My little sister woke me up. She was holding my pen. “You dropped your pen”. She adorably said. She then hugged me and left. Its going to be dark soon. I’m writing now because now’s the only time to update this journal (not really) of mine before facing the vampires again. I’m sure to write down lots of things after the battle (if ever I survive... Hahaha).
-----------------------------------------------------
It’s morning now. The vampires acted really strange. They just observed us. They rarely attacked. When we try to charge unto them, they would just run away from us. But we knew they weren’t afraid. We tried to get them to where the traps were. Some would trigger the traps and get hit or get blown up. But after awhile, not a trap was then again triggered. At times, a vampire or two would suddenly charge unto our party but would immediately change directions and would get away from us. A fake attack? It seemed like they wanted to know how we would react on their attacks. We couldn’t surround them. They knew that we would. They’d run off to another dark area and hide there once we make a move.
Hide, observe and do a bit of test. That’s what they kept on doing. Spellcasters and archers would try to shower them with their all but ended up hitting everything but the vampires. They surely got better. The vampires that showed up were fewer than expected though. It seemed like they were only scouts sent out to know what we were capable of.
